Walking my dog Zeus this Saturday morning we walked passed the small airport of Quepos, Costa Rica. The airport has recently reopened after being reconstructed. It was shut down for several years due to having being totally destroyed by a severe rain storm a few years back. It was wonderful to see it operating again. Having taking in the new airport and smiling within I was about to turn around and head back home. An old man crossing the street got my attention by yelling “do not turn around, walk with me a while”. I waited for him to cross the road and I introduced myself and Zeus. We walked on together enjoying the morning and answering his questions. Where are you from? Do you always walk this way? I asked him about the trees and plants that we passed that were foreign to me.

On the way back in passing the airport there were two planes parked on the tarmac and one was about to make its taxi down the run way. I asked him to stop walking so we could see the take off. I have taken flights from that airport to San Jose,Costa Rica so I knew where the plane would take off from the run way. We waited and waited in anticipation of the lift off but to my surprise and dismay the plane passed the typical take off point and was taxing back towards the airport. I thought, oh the pilot was going to re park. As soon as that though crossed my mind the plane lifted off and soared over our heads What a surprise and thrill it was watching it head to its destination.

Upon arriving home I was still full of energy so I began to dance to some amazing gospel worship songs that were filled with high vibrations and power. I was dancing and dancing sweating and feeling free and joyful. Then it came to me. My lesson from the divine: Remember the airport Lorraine, it was destroyed and out of commission for a few years but now that it has being rebuild it still flies to the same destinations, however it has found another path in which to soar, the destination has not changed only the path to get there. Had I successfully turned around to go home and not taken the invitation to walk with the old man I would have missed the lesson.

The storms of life can at times feel like it is there to destroy you or you may feel destroyed and your wings are clipped. However, if you do not give up , if you stand firm and not run from the place, situation or things that tried to destroy you, if you fight back and patiently rebuild you can “Soar again using the same runway but “Soar” from a different direction. You will get to your original destination. Have faith be strong you WILL get there.
